Scotland is home to more than 790 islands! However, only 93 of them are actually inhabited!
The 10 largest islands are:
- Lewis and Harris
- Isle of Skye
- Shetland
- Isle of Mull
- Islay
- Orkney
- Isle of Arran
- Jura
- South Uist
- North Uist
Getting two and from the inhabited islands is pretty easy! For most of the islands, CalMac offers a fantastic ferry service, with multiple crossings a day. To get to the Isle of Skye, there is a bridge that connects the island to the mainland. For the Orkney and Shetland Islands, Northlink Ferries runs a frequent ferry service to and from the islands.
