A Full Guide To LA

Visiting Los Angles anytime soon? Here is a full to the city of LA, and everything you need to know!

Los Angles or LA for short is one big city! It’s that big, it had 88 cities within the city. It’s crazy! Not only is it a large city, but it is also one very busy city too! If you’re planning on hiring a car, don’t expect to get from A to B very quickly. The key is to allow yourself extra time everywhere you plan to go. Especially, when heading to the airport for your flight. That being said, having a car is the best way to get around the city. Probably, that’s why there are so many cars on the road! Compared to other cities, they seem to lack a good public transport link! So if you are planning a visit to the city, I recommend hiring a car. If you don’t feel confident driving or don’t want to drive, using a mixture of taxis and buses will be your best option.

Where To Stay

Wondering where to stay? Just like every city, some areas are more expensive to stay in than others. In the main tourist areas of LA, Venice Beach is one of the most budget-friendly places to stay and Hollywood, being one of the more expensive places to stay.

As it was our honeymoon, we decided we wanted a bit of luxury. Therefore, we decided to stay in Hollywood. We staying in the beautiful Loews Hollywood Hotel.

What To See And Do In LA

There are so many things to do in the city of LA. From visiting Disneyland to hiking some of the trails to soaking up the sun on the beach. If I tried covering everything, my guide would end up being as long as a book. Therefore, in this guide, I’m going to share my favourite things to do in the city.

Here are my top recommendations when visiting LA:

Hike Up To The Hollywood Sign

My favourite thing to do when visiting LA, is to take a hike up to the Hollywood Sign! There are lots of different trails to do, but here is the one I did: No.1 Hike To The Hollywood Sign

Walk The Hollywood Hall of Fame

Walking down the Hollywood strip isn’t my favourite thing to do in LA. However, I have decided to add it to this list as I feel it is a ‘must-do’ when visiting LA. You can’t go all the way to LA and not walk the Hollywood Hall of Fame! Just be prepared for characters like Spiderman to come and try and get a photo with you. If you have a photo, remember to tip them!

Potter Along Santa Monica Pier

A visit to LA cannot be done without a potter along the Santa Monica Peer! Enjoy the rides or go for the atmosphere. If you are doing Route 66, then a visit here is a must! The end sign to the good old Mother Road is located right on this pier!

Do you know why Santa Monica pier is so famous? It was the first concrete pier on the West Coast.

Enjoy Food At Venice Beach

Venice Beach has one great vibe about it! It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat, pick up some quirky souvenirs, or watch men showing off their muscles in the outdoor gym.

Have A Stroll Along Venice Canals

Venice Canals is a gorgeous area of LA. It is made up of four canals travelling east to west, and two canals travelling north to south. If you have time, take a nice, slow, peaceful stroll along them.

Have A Drive Through Beverley Hills

If you have a car, drive through the famous Beverley Hills. An area full of beautiful, grand houses, where once a lot of celebrities use to live. If you are doing Route 66, this is part of the route to Santa Monica Pier, so don’t miss it out!

Lookout for the giant, old Oak Tree, just before capturing your photo at the grand Beverley Hills sign. You can’t miss it!
