My Weekly Lupus Diary

My Eye Hospital Appointment

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dad’s out there! Mine is currently trekking up the freezing cold mountains in Norway, having the time of his life!

For anyone who may find today a difficult day, my thoughts are with each and every one of you.

This weekend we’ve got away in Casper. We’ve headed up to the Lake District for a weekend of bagging Wainwrights. It feels great to be back out in our campervan, up in the mountains again. It’s been way too long! We managed to tick off four Wainwrights yesterday and one little one today. It’s been an incredible weekend! Slowly ticking off all the Wainwrights. 63 out of 214 done!

Here’s me standing at all 5 summits:

Eye Hospital Appointment

I had my eye hospital appointment this week and it went really well. I got new glasses back in December with a stronger prism in. The hospital wanted to test my eyes to check the prism was still working and that my eye muscles hadn’t deteriorated any further. After doing a series of tests on my eyes, she said my prism is doing a good job, and my eyes have stayed stable since December. She also reassured me, that if my eyes do continue to get worse as the years go on, and I’ve gone through every strength of prism there is, they can operate. So this is good to know! I hope I never need the operation, but it’s nice to know there is always that option.

The Wolf

The wolf is behaving pretty well at the minute. Not sure why he’s being so good to me? A lot of factors recently should have made him angry but he hasn’t bitten back yet. I don’t know why? But I’m not complaining, just so happy and grateful for feeling well at the minute. Grateful to have been well enough to summit each of the Wainwrights I did this weekend. Every moment I have like this, I cherish so much.

That’s it from me today. This week I had my eye appointment and blood test. Next week I’ve got a lovely break from medical appointments. But then the week after I’ve got my Ultrasound, Gastro appointment, and my smear test.

Until next week,

Goodbye for now

Emma
