I hope you’re having a wonderful long Bank Holiday weekend! We haven’t gone away in Casper this weekend. Instead, we’ve spent it at home, working, getting myself well (which I will talk about shortly), and preparing the van for our big two-week road trip next week. A two-week road trip that nearly got cancelled yesterday when somebody decided to drill right through our central locking system. I had only asked him to fit a drinks holder on the van door! Thankfully, his good mate knows a thing or two about van electrics and it’s now all fixed!
He’s certainly learned his lesson to not go drilling without knowing what’s behind it!
My Biopsy
On Tuesday, I had my biopsy taken on my finger. It was a painless procedure other than the two local anesthetics going into my finger. After that, I couldn’t feel a thing! They said my finger might throb a bit once the anesthetic had worn off. But to be honest it didn’t! However, I do have stitches, which I wasn’t expecting. I thought they would just scrap a tiny bit of skin off my finger, not dig a chunk out!
Insterestly, the Dermatologist who did the procedure recognised my rashes as Lupus rashes straight away. I explained how my previous Dermatologist questioned them. How he thought possibly they could be caused by another illness. So he arranged the biopsy to find out exactly what they are. So be interesting to see when get the results. My Rhyuematogolist has always been confident they are Lupus rashes too.

Fighting An Infection
I haven’t been very well this week. To be honest, I haven’t been well for a while with my sinuses, as I know from previous blogs. As much as I tried to avoid getting sinusitis all month, it became a bit of a losing battle.
Basically, long story short, my sinuses became infected. They then started to drip down onto my chest. My chest became tight and sore, my voice was barely recognisable, and I just felt generally so unwell. I knew at this point, I needed to go to doctors.
Today, day 3 of my antibiotics, I’m starting to feel a lot better. My sinuses aren’t as painful. My chest is still tight, but my voice is almost back to normal. I’m still feeling quite tired and weak, but I’m heading in the right direction, so I’m happy!
Casper’s Biggest Road Trip Yet
That’s it from me this week. There will be no blog for the next three weekends as we are away in Casper, just as long as Alex doesn’t go drilling into any more electrical cables before we go!
We’re off to Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, and Romania. I cannot wait! It’s going to be Casper’s biggest road trip yet! Hopefully, we will come back alive and avoid all of the landmines, bears, and wolfs! They call the wolfs Canis Lupus over there, so I’m off to see my friends! đ
Honestly though, it’s been a nightmare to plan for Bosnia and Serbia! Trying to get van insurance to cover us on the roads out there has been a challenge! No one in the UK wants to cover us. Luckily, you can buy some at the border. Then we’ve had to find out where the nearest police station is, so we can register with the police within the first 24 hours of being in both countries. Otherwise, we are at risk of being detained at the border when we try to leave. Our sim cards don’t cover us over there, so we have to get local sim cards. The list just goes on! We’ve been told we must stay on roads and trails at all times, and not go wandering off. As they don’t know where half the landmines are. We’ve got bear bells to keep us safe when out walking where the bears are. It is unlikely we are going to see a wolf, but apparently have been known to eat humans for the next meal! So hopefully, if we do bump into one, they’ve just eaten!
Life is all about adventure!
