Natural Bridges Monument Park is one amazing park, located in the American state, Utah. It is famous for the incredible, 3 huge, stream-carved natural bridges and a concentration of Ancestral Puebloans ruins.
I visited the park as part of an epic 3-week road trip, back in August 2014. Just like any American park, I was blown away with what I saw! I only had 1/2 a day in the park. However, it was enough to see the highlights of what Natural Bridges Monument Park had to offer.
Here is my highlights of Natural Bridges Monument Park:
The 3 Natural Bridges
The best way to see the 3 natural bridges, is by driving the Loop Road. It is also called the Bridge View Drive. Each natural bridge has its own name: Sipapu, Kachina, and Owachomo. The names are in honor of the ancestral Puebloans who once called this place their home.
My favourite of the 3 bridges, was Owachomo. I did a short hike to this bridge. This is something I highly recommend you do! It was so impressive to see! The walk to the bridge is only 0.25-miles on an unpaved bridge trail, well signposted.
There are other hikes you can do in the park. Since we only had half a day in the park, we sadly didn’t have time. For more information about the different hikes you can do, please visit the park’s website: https://www.nps.gov/nabr/index.htm
