Deciding which Christmas Market to visit can be hard! With so many good ones to choose from, it’s not an easy decision. Last year, we decided to stay in England and visited Manchester’s Christmas Markets. Apparently, the Manchester Christmas Market is one of the best ones to visit in Europe. Honestly, they did not disappoint one bit!
Accommodation
We choose to stay at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. The hotel was amazing! The view from our room, looking over the city was incredible. The hotel was quite pricy, especially if you are someone on a budget. We decided to choose this hotel for two reasons; one the view from the room, and secondly, for the pool. We love staying in hotels with pool/spa facilities. We booked the hotel through the Hilton website. This was so we could get our points for our stay, as we are Hilton Honours cardholders.
The parking at the hotel was expensive, so we decided to book a parking spot elsewhere, through a company called, Just Park. The car park we just a short 5-minute walk away from the hotel.

Christmas Markets
Manchester’s Christmas Markets were great! The main ones are held outside the City Hall, however, there are lots more dotted around the city centre. We found them all very easy to navigate around. There are signs, which point you from one market to the next.
The atmosphere at the markets was fantastic! As you walked through the market, you could smell the mulled wine, sing-a-long to the Christmas tunes, taste some freshly cooked Bratwurst, and treat yourself to some lovely hand-made Christmas decorations. We ended up purchasing a giant snowman, from a lovely Dutch stall. If you are feeling more adventurous, you could give outdoor ice skating a try!
Cloud 23
If you want to escape the cold weather with a view over the city, then Cloud 23 is the place to be. Cloud 23 is Manchester’s highest cocktail and champagne bar. It is the highest point in Manchester, located in the Beetham Tower. It is in the same building as the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. Drinks are pricy, however, with the view you got, it was certainly worth the cost. If you do want to visit, it is best to make a reservation in advance. They are quite strict on the dress code too. They require you to dress smartly; no trainers or joggers. However, they did let me in with my winter boots on and Alex with his Converse on, which I was quite surprised with. It was a good job; we didn’t have any other shoes with us!
