Las Vegas is an entirely different world! A place full of money, casinos, hotels, and lights. A place like no other!
Las Vegas is located in the middle of a desert, in Nevada. It has its own airport, transport links, and an excellent road network, making it easily accessible for everyone. Well, just as long as you got the money! A trip to Las Vegas will leave your wallet feeling empty. It is not cheap!
Where To Stay
The most popular place to stay in Las Vegas, is on the strip, in one of the big fancy-themed hotels. However, they are not cheap! To stay in one of these hotels, expect to pay more. If you are on a budget, I recommend looking at staying in a hotel located off the strip.
A great tip that will save you lots of money when booking a hotel in Las Vegas. If you are going on a road trip and can be flexible with the dates, avoid a Friday and Saturday night. The price of some of the hotels can triple in price. It’s crazy!
Something else to look out for when booking a hotel, if you have a car, look at hotels that offer free car parking, or discounted car parking. Also, some hotels have resort fees included in hotel room offers, which again can help you save some pennies.
My all-time favourite hotel to stay in, is the Venetian. It’s a beautiful hotel and located quite central on the strip. The only downside is the price of the rooms, it’s not the most budget-friendly hotel.
What To See And Do
Las Vegas has so much to offer! From spending a day in the casinos to wandering around from hotel to hotel, to experiencing some of the most incredible shows they have to offer. If you have a car, don’t be afraid to drive out for the day and explore some of the neighboring parks, from Red Rock Canyon to the Grand Canyon National Park. If you love thrill rides, head up the Strat and try one of their thrill rides that suspend you off the edge! If you are after something a little tamer, head on the rollercoaster in New York hotel or zipline through Fremont Street.

Potter Around The Hotels
Every hotel along the strip has its own theme. From Paris to New York, you can travel the globe in just one day. You can ride the gondolas in the Venetian and head up the Effiel Tower in Paris. Just make sure you have a comfy pair of shoes on, you will find yourself working from miles. The strip is longer than you think!
Don’t forget to walk the trip in the daytime, then again at night!
Watch The Dancing Fountains
Every 30 minutes during the day, and every 15 minutes after 7 pm, the Bellagio put on a spectacular fountain show. It’s free to watch and not to be missed! The fountains dance away to the music, putting on an excellent show. It’s magical!
The Volcano
Every evening at 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm, the Mirage puts on a show. The giant volcano touring outside the front of the Mirage erupts. It’s fantastic to see!
See A Show
Las Vegas holds some of the world’s best shows. We went to see O by Cirque Du Soleil. It was incredible from start to finish! If there is one show to see, this is the one to go to! It was truly phenomenal!
If you are interested in seeing O, the show is held in the Bellagio. I recommend getting tickets well in advance to get good seats, as they do sell out quickly. It is one of the most popular shows to see in Las Vegas!

Have A Gamble
You can’t go all the way to Las Vegas and not have a go on a slot machine! Every hotel along the strip has a casino. Pick a hotel and have a go on a slot machine, it’s all part of the Vegas experience!
Hire A Car
If you are spending a few days in Las Vegas, hire a car and get out and explore. There is Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National park, and Hoover Dam you can go and visit.
