Hope you are all having a lovely weekend! It’s so lovely to see summer has finally returned. Let’s just hope it stays around for a little while!
Last weekend, we were supposed to be in the Lake District. However, the weather had completely different ideas! Even though I wouldn’t call myself a fair-weather walker, climbing mountains to just see clouds at the summit, and getting completely drenched through, really isn’t much fun! So we decided to follow the good weather, and we headed to Norfolk for the weekend.
Honestly, we had an incredible time! On Saturday, we did a lovely walk along the North Norfolk Coastline and had a dip in the sea. On Sunday, I woke up not feeling too well with the wolf, so we decided to swap our walking boots with a boat trip on the Norfolk Broads. We saw some breathtaking sunsets, enjoyed some lovely food, saw some beautiful windmills, and left with our hearts feeling so full!
Here’s a little photo dump of our weekend away:
My Sinuses
Overall, other than last Sunday, I’ve been feeling so much with the wolf! The only thing that’s really been bugging me is my sinuses. They completely cleared up after my infection, after the course of antibiotics. It was bliss! I had about a week of no sinus pain!
However, since Thursday, my painful sinuses have unwelcomely returned. They feel painful and inflamed again! The only blessing is, I have found a bit of relief. Inhaling steam daily seems to be helping. Sometimes, it’s the good old-fashioned remedies that work the best! Just frustrating! Forever in battle with my sinuses!
For anyone who’s new to my blogs, at the back end of last year, my ENT consultant looked into maybe operating on my sinuses. After a camera up my nose, and a CT scan, a decision was made not to. He basically said with it being my Lupus/Sjogren’s that’s causing the inflammation in my sinuses, the operation won’t be beneficial enough. Instead, he diagnosed me with chronic sinusitis and said all I can do is try and find ways to ease the pain and symptoms. As much as I didn’t want to go through surgery, it was upsetting to know there was nothing they can do, other than prescribe me medication to help me manage it. For example, I have to use Flixonase, a steroid nasal spray twice a day, every day to help with the inflammation.
Upcoming Appointments
Next week I’ve got a busy week of appointments. I’ve got my routine bloods and then I have my appointment for my verrucas on my feet. It’s only a consultation, but it will be interesting to see what decide to do. Both feet are riddled with verrucas. Surely, when it comes to treatment, they will just do one foot at a time right? I need to be able to walk! I’ll be so glad once my verrucas are gone, as they nothing but hurt!
Birthday
It’s my birthday next Saturday. We are not going to discuss how old I am going to be! I mean age is just a number right? I may not be thrilled at turning a year older, but I am excited about eating birthday cake and being in the mountains for it. Hopefully, in lovely sunshine, waking up to a beautiful sunrise, seeing lots of wildlife, and then to end the day, the Aurora dancing above us. Ok, probably pushing my look with the Aurora. That being said, it has been spotted as far down as Cornwall this week! And we are hoping to head up to the Scottish Borders for my birthday. So there is always a chance!
Since it’s my birthday weekend, there be no blog next week! Have a wonderful Bank Holiday!
Goodbye for now.
