This week hasn’t been quite the week I had hoped for! A week of battling a nasty sinus infection and a flare-up with the wolf. Thankfully, I am now starting to see the end to it all. But it’s been a long week of rest, antibiotics, and a higher dose of steroids.
This Weather
I have to say I do kind of blame this weather for making the wolf angry! It’s like autumn at the minute! Not sure what has happened to summer? Even the trees down my street think it’s autumn! Some of the leaves have started to change colour. Honestly, I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer yet.
In Autumn, I often struggle with the damp air. I often get sinus infections, a lot of pain in my joints, etc. I’ve had my dehumidifier back on the last few days to help. The amount of water it’s picking up is shocking! But it shows just how much moisture is in the air! It’s awful though! I can literally feel the moisture in my joints. People say it’s the cold that affects your joints, but for me, it’s not. It’s the damp that does. That’s probably why I am fine when I go on holiday to cold climates. As a lot of countries have cold but dry air. Whereas in the UK, the air just gets cold and damp. Even warm and damp as I’ve found out this past week!
Other News
I don’t know if you remember me talking about my verrucas on my feet a while back. My GP had to fight for funding from the NHS to get them treated. As NHS doesn’t normally deal with verrucas. However, because of the state my feet are in, and how I’m a complicated case with me being immunosuppressed and poor circulation, funding has thankfully been approved.
Good news, I’ve finally got an appointment through for the end of the month. Honestly, I will be very happy to get rid of them! Not only are they spreading more and more, but they also causing me daily pain! My only worry, when they do decide to go ahead and remove them, I’m not sure how I am actually going to walk! But will deal with that when it happens!
Rashes
My rashes are on full form this year! Currently have a love heart on one cheek. At least the wolf is trying to create pretty designs with them!
Joking aside, my face is a mess! I’m hoping this higher dose of steroids is going to clear them. It’s frustrating though, I’m still on a lower dose of Hydroxychloroquine. (For anyone who doesn’t know, Hydroxychloroquine helps to reduce the rashes.) I’m still waiting to hear from the eye doctor about what is actually going on with my eyes. If it’s my Hydroxychloroquine or not that is causing the damage. Until then, the lower dose it is, and rashes I will have to just accept!
That’s it from me this week! Hopefully, next week is a better week! It’s finally nice to see some sun shining. Let’s hope this is a sign of summer returning and less of the damp autumn weather.
I’m hopefully away next weekend in Casper so there will be no blog. Sadly, our last trip we had to cancel due to heavy rain forecasted all weekend. I was pretty gutted, but I felt it was pointless going away to just sit in a van all day listening to the rain, as cosy as it may sound. We did however go to the cinema and watch the new Barbie film! If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it! Just don’t go buying an Ice Blast. It cost the same as my cinema ticket and the paper straw just turned to mush! Paper straws and liquids do not mix!
