Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a glass igloo? Is it something to do on your bucket list? Would you love to see the Northern Lights? In this blog, I am going to share my experience with you about my one night stay in a glass igloo.
To end a week-long holiday skiing in Yllas Ski Resort, we decided to drive over to Levi, a neighbouring ski resort. We decided to spend our last night in something rather special; a glass igloo. It was definitely a night to remember!
About 4 months before our trip to Lapland, we did a bit of researching on what to do whilst staying in Yllas Ski Resort. When having a browse on the good old trip advisor, Golden Crown Levin Igluts popped up. The minute I saw them, I knew it was something we had to do! It’s not every day you have an opportunity to spend a night in a glass igloo!
Golden Crown Levin Igluts are based 5.6 miles outside Levi Ski Resort, and 6.4 miles away from Kittila Airport. Car parking is free, breakfast is included, and some igloos have free Wifi. I recommend booking in advance, as they do sell out quickly! You can choose from either a Superior or a Premium igloo. A night in an igloo will cost you around ÂŖ500.
Breakfast is a lovely buffet, located in the Aurora Sky Restaurant. The only downside was having to walk out in the bitter cold temperatures first thing in the morning. However, you are soon warmed up by sitting beside the toasty log fire whilst eating your breakfast.
The igloo was lovely and cozy. Watching the snowfall down, as you fall to sleep on a super, comfy bed. The only downside for when we went was since it was snowing, it sadly meant no Northern Lights! Luckily, we were fortunate to see them the night before at our hotel in Yllas Ski Resort.
