If you are looking for a nice, gentle coastal walk, full of wildlife and history, this is the walk for you!
The walk is a 3-mile (4.8 km) out-and-back walk along the shores of Lochbuie. It’s a great family-friendly walk!
If you have a campervan, you can stay the night at the little camping area just down the road from the Tearoom. The Old Post Office Tearoom ask for a small fee to be paid into the Honesty Box. This helps towards the upkeep of the toilet and the area.
Moy Castle
Moy Castle on the Isle of Mull, is one not to be confused with the one in Inverness!

Location
Lochbuie is located south of the Isle of Mull, just 14 miles (22km) from Craignure, making it a perfect first stop when you come off the ferry!
Parking
There is a small car park next to the Old Post Office Tea Room for day visitors. If you are coming in your campervan and planning on staying the night, head to the little camping ground and pitch up first. The walk from the camping ground is less than a 5-minute walk away from the Old Post Office Tea Room.

The Route
Follow this map as you walk the route, and you shouldn’t get lost! Make sure your location is turned on and you should be able to see exactly where you are on this map. Or if you prefer, download the GPX file and use it on your choice of route tracker.
It’s an out-and-back route!
1.
Starting from the Old Post Office Tearoom, head onto the lane, travelling eastwards from the tearoom. Follow the first track until you reach a path junction, with a signpost to Moy Castle.
If you are unsure at any point, please refer to the map!
2.
Take the footpath forking off to your right-hand side, signposted Moy Castle. Follow the footpath until you reach the castle.
3.
Once you’ve finished admiring the castle ruins, turn to your right-hand side onto the lane. Follow the lane over the river and to another junction.
4.
Take the lane heading off to your right-hand side and follow it along the shores of Lochbuie.
5.
After a little while, you will reach another path junction. Here, continue along the lane, going off towards your right-hand side, still following the shores of Lochbuie. Eventually, you will reach Laggan Sands.
6.
Once you’ve finished enjoying your time on the beach, watching the cows take a dip, start your journey back to the Old Post Office Tea Room, retracing your steps.
