The Torridon Hills is one beautiful area in the Scottish Highlands! It is known as one of the most scenic spots in the whole of the British Isles. Not only that, it is home to some of the oldest rocks in the world too. A place full of jaw-dropping scenery and history. If you are driving NC 500, make sure this is a stop on your route!
This walk is a beautiful, low-level walk, suitable for all abilities. The walk is just over 6-miles long, around two Scottish lochs. If you are lucky, you may even see some Highland Cattle. Just make sure, you have the correct clothing i.e. good footwear, waterproofs, and extra layers. Even though the walk doesn’t take you up high, you are still very exposed to the weather.
Location
The walk starts and finishes on the A896 next to Loch Clair, between Kinlochewe and the village of Torridon.
Parking
There is very a small area to park, at the start of the walk, beside the A895. My advice is to get there early, as it can full quickly!
The Route
Follow this map, as you walk the route, you shouldn’t get lost! Make sure your location is turned on and you should be able to see exactly where you are, on this map. Or if you prefer, download the GPX file and use it on your choice of route tracker.
1.
Starting at the small car park on the A895, cross over ther road and follow the private road down, passing a small loch on your left-hand side.

Cross over the River A’Ghairdhe and follow the path around the left-hand side of Loch Clair, until you reach the top end of the loch.
3.
Head through the metal gates and follow the path towards Loch Coulin. Shortly, you should see a footpath going off to your right-hand side, through the trees.

Take the footpath and follow it down towards Loch Coulin. Carry on following the path, as it leads to the top end of the loch towards a cottage.

Evenutally, the footpath will join a track. Follow the track around the loch head, passing some more cottages, on your right-hand side. Carry on following the track, as it leads you along the opposite side of the loch.

As you reach towards the bottom end of Loch Coulin, you should pass a couple more houses, before reaching a bridge. Head over the bridge and turn towards your left-hand side, following the path back to the car park. Walking along the edge of Loch Clair, over the wooden bridge, and pass the little lock. You should reconignise this part of the walk from earlier on.
