Hope you all had a lovely Easter! đ
Alex and I had a great time away in Northumberland in Casper. The weather was perfect! We did some lovely walks, visited some beautiful towns, and attempted a bit of astrophotography. If you haven’t been to Northumberland, get yourself there! It’s such a beautiful part of England.
Health-wise, the first day I wasn’t feeling a little fragile, so we took it easy. I took the camera out along Kielder Reservoir and practiced long exposure shots.
Thankfully, after a full day of taking it easy, the next day I was feeling so much better! So out came my hiking boots, and spent the next couple of days doing some lovely walks, including a walk along a very small section of Hardrian’s Wall.
Here’s a little photo dump of our mini trip away:
Sinuses
Since I’ve been home, my sinuses haven’t been good! It’s this time of year when I seem to suffer more with them. It’s so frustrating! I love Spring, it’s my favourite season. Seeing everything come back to life after the Winter, and seeing the days becoming longer, and warmer. It all makes me so happy! Yet annoyingly, my body seems to disagree and cause me nothing but pain.
Every day, I’ve been washing out my sinuses with a saline wash, inhaling steam, and taking decongestants. Yet, each day they seem to be getting a little bit more painful. I trying to do anything to prevent them from getting infected. Honestly, it’s feeling like a losing battle. But I will keep fighting! Hopefully, within the next day or two, things will start to improve.
Any tips or advice are more than welcome……..
Rash
The rash on my hand is still here. But the good news is it hasn’t got any worse. It has seemed to have stopped spreading for now, which I am happy about. It’s probably not going to heal without steroid cream or an increased dose of oral steroids. Either, I don’t want, so I’m happy just to live with it as it is.

I haven’t got much else to say this week! We are currently in the middle of getting ourselves organised for a big road trip in Casper next month, which we are so excited about! Looking at driving all the way down to Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, and Romania. It’s going to be Casper’s biggest road trip yet!
Travelling Makes Me So Happy!
Honestly, travelling makes me so happy! The whole planning beforehand, being away, and the post-trip feeling afterward. Whenever I’m having a bad day with the wolf, I focus my energy on my travels, and mentally, it makes me happier.
I remember during the pandemic when I was shielding a lot, my mental health really struggled. But the minute I got Casper and I was back on that road traveling again, my mental health improved massively. I’m not saying go out and buy a campervan. Even though, I do recommend one! But find something that makes you truly happy. Then when you are having a bad day with your health, channel your energy to that one thing. It will then make your bad day not feel so bad!
Anyways, that’s it from me this week. Got a big road trip to carry on planning this afternoon!
Until next week,
Goodbye for now
Emma
