A Day In Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park is one of my favourite American National Parks. Located in Utah, it is just so impressive to see! I’ve never seen anything like it before! It is famous for its spire-shaped rocks, deep canyon, and beautiful red/orange colour. It is a park that should be on everyone’s bucket list!

Sadly, we only had one day in the park. I definitely would love to return and see a lot more of what the park has to offer. I would love to complete some more walking trails and see sunset/sunrise over the canyon.

Here is how we spent our day exploring the National Park:

Sunset Viewpoint

Sunset Viewpoint will blow your mind away! The view is incredible! You will be able to see right across Bryce Canyon National Park. It is also the start of the Queen’s Garden Trail, one of the most popular trails in the park.

Queen’s Garden Trail

The trailhead starts at Sunset Viewpoint. Here, follow the signs, marking out the trail. The trail is 0.8-miles to the Queen’s Garden.

After arriving at the Queen’s Garden, turn back on yourself, and walk until you see a signpost marking the Navajo Loop Trail. Here, we combined the Queen’s Garden Trail with the Navajo Loop Trail, making it a total of 2.75-miles round trip. Definitely recommend doing both! To walk both trails, it will take your around 2/3-hours to complete.

If you don’t want to complete the Navajo Loop Trail, just continue back on the Queen’s Garden Trail, back to Sunset Viewpoint, where you started the walk from.

Navajo Loop Trail

If you are just walking the Navajo Loop Trail and are not choosing to link it with the Queen’s Garden Trail, you can start this trail at the Sunset Viewpoint. If you are combining the two walks, follow my instructions under Queen’s Garden Trail. Both trails are wells sign-posted.

Look out for Thor’s Hammer, Wall Street (the only slot canyon in Bryce), and the Two Bridges. To see Thor’s Hammer, you have to slightly detour off Wall Street. Make sure you don’t miss it!

For any of the trails, my advice is to get their early and they can get busy and car parks can get full! Good footwear is a must as the trails can be quite steep when climbing up and down the canyon on loose gravel.

Sunrise Viewpoint

You can walk from Sunset Viewpoint. To reach Sunrise Viewpoint, walk north on the Rim Trail. It is an easy walk while providing you with breathtaking views over the canyon!

Inspiration Point And Bryce Point

Both have similar views to see, looking over at the canyon. Both impressive!

To get more information about the viewpoints and walking trails, please visit the visitor center on arriving at the park. It opens at 8 am and they offer lots of information about the park.
