Hope you’re all having a great weekend! It’s great to finally see a bit of sunshine!
Yesterday evening, we headed to the coast to capture the sunset and watch the full moon rise. It was such a beautiful evening! There’s just something about being at the coast, hearing the waves crash against the shore, I find so relaxing. I can’t do a lot at the minute with me not being well. But just being able to get out with the camera and capture these little moments, brings me so much joy and happiness!
Here’s a little photo dump from last night:
My first-ever MRI
On Thursday, I experienced my first-ever MRI. I had to have a scan on two different areas of my head. One of my brain and one on the area behind my eyes.
To be fair it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be! I’m not going to lie, it is a little bit claustrophobic, especially the one I had. My head had to be cadged into a box thing, before going into the long, tube scanner. But I found the humming noise of the scanner quite soothing and just drifted off to sleep for half an hour. It was lovely!
I’ve now got to wait about 4 weeks for my results. Hopefully, my results are going to come back clear!
For anyone who missed my previous blog, my Neruo Orthamologist wants to check to make sure there isn’t something going inside my head, causing the muscle problems in my eyes and the headaches. He also wants to check my Lupus hasn’t spread onto my brain, causing Neuropsychiatric Lupus, and test me for MS. It’s very unlikely I would have MS and Lupus, so I’m not too worried about that. Regarding Neuropsychiatric Lupus, I’m praying I don’t have that!
New Plan For My Verrucas
You might remember a while back, I was having cryotherapy for my verrucas. After a few sessions, there were no signs of it working, and treatment was aborted.
Since then, the Dermatologist referred me to see a Podiatrist, with a new place of action. I’ve got to rub alcohol gel onto my verrucas up to 5 times a day and file them. The alcohol gel can cause the cells to mutate, causing an immune response. It will be interesting to see if this plan works!
One good thing about seeing the Podiatrist, I get a good little pedicure every time I go! He cuts my toenails and gives them a lovely little file. My feet will be looking marvelous for summer at this rate. Well……if only my toes weren’t covered in chilblains and looking purple every time I took my socks off!
Appointments Every Week
At the moment, I seem to have appointments every single week! I’m ever so grateful to receive the great care I get from the NHS, but mentally it’s draining! It’s hard having appointment after appointment! Every appointment just brings that reminder of how much your own body is failing you! Sometimes, it’s nice to have a break from that reminder!
At least next week it’s just my routine bloods! But then the following week, it’s a big appointment with my Rhuemyalogist. Hopefully, I will find out when I’m actually starting my new treatment and a plan of action moving forward with what to do with my poor circulation. If another course of the dreaded Iloprost is needed!
Anyway’s, that’s it from me this week!
Until next time,
Goodbye for now.
Emma
