This week’s blog is only going to short but sweet one as I’ve got one busy day ahead! We received one of the best bits of news we could have hoped for this week. We have a date for moving! After a long 6 months, with lots of delays along the way, I can say next week, we are finally moving house. I’m so excited! I am a bit sad to be saying goodbye to my home. A house I brought 8 years ago. It was my first house. A house full of so many memories! But now it’s time to end that chapter and open a new chapter to our lives. A chapter with new excitement, new memories, and new adventures.
The Wolf
The wolf has been behaving really well recently. The only real issue I’ve had recently is joint pain. My knees, elbows, and thumb on my right hand are currently so sore. I went out running earlier this week. I was fine when I was out running. The minute I got home, the pain in my knees was so bad. I haven’t had pain like that in my knees since pre-diagnosis. It was horrible!
I’m hoping my joints are currently so painful because I’m currently not on my Methotrexate, due to my 4th dose of the vaccine. Today is the last day of my two weeks, so tomorrow I can inject myself again with Methotrexate. So let’s hope the pain starts to subside next week. I do often notice an increase in pain when I’m off my Methotrexate. At least I know my medication is doing a great job and I’m not just injecting myself for the fun of it!
But overall, minus the joint pain, I’ve been feeling really well. My sinuses have been causing me no bother, which is very unusual. Ever since that infection in December, they have been doing so well. I’ve not needed any decongestiant for a while now. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks, which is long time for me. I guess the antibiotics and the steroid dose increase have really helped to clear them up.
Running
If you remember, last week I complained about the cold air getting onto my chest when I was out running. So this week I tried using a buff to cover my mouth and nose when out, to see if it would help my chest. What a difference it made! It stopped that cold air from going straight onto my lungs and leaving me feeling suffocated. So if you have asthma but struggle running or even walking in the cold. You don’t have to avoid it, get a scarf or a buff to cover your mouth and nose. I always belive finding a fix is the answer, and not avoidness.
Here’s some pics taken from a sunrise run this week:
I’m always on cloud 9 when I’m out running on the trails, epsically when I get a beautiful sunrise to go with it. It’s something that makes me feel so happy and so alive. I don’t push my body when I’m out running, as I don’t want to cause a flare-up. Sometimes I walk and run. Sometimes I will stop and take photos. I don’t set myself a time or distance. I just go out there, pick a route I want to do, put on a good podcast, and enjoy myself. I do it becuase it makes me feel so happy!
Anyways, that’s it from me this week. I’ve got a lot of boxing up to do!
Before I go, here’s a little reminder about my book. The reduced price will only be valid until the end of the month, so make sure you don’t miss out on a great saving!
