It’s been a lot better week this week! The week started off with my emotions all over the place, but as the week went on, I’ve returned back to my happy self. The wedding I’m starting to feel more positive about, and the house move, we just won’t talk about! As we’ve received even more unwanted news! At this rate, we will be moving house and getting married on the same week! But I always believe everything happens for a reason?
This weekend we’re away in Casper in the North Yorkshire Moors. I love getting away at the weekends! It just makes me so happy, parked up in the middle of nowhere with views of miles and miles. It’s my form of meditation. Being out in the outdoors, away from the busy everyday life, away from any stresses. Well, apart from when you run completely out of gas and have to drive 17 miles to buy some more, in thick fog at night, after ringing around loads of companies to see if anywhere was open and selling it! Yup, that happened to us last night! Don’t ask how we managed to have two empty gas bottles with us. We won’t be making that mistake again!
4th Dose of Vaccine
I was quite anxious about getting my 4th dose of the vaccine. I was ok after my 1st, very poorly after my 2nd and my 3rd. So I thought there’s a chance my 4th would make me unwell too. However, apart from feeling a bit tired with a headache on Sunday, the day I had the vaccine, I’ve been absolutely fine. I’ve also now been off my Methotrexate for one week, with another week to go. So far, so good too. In fact, my health right from the start of the year has been great. I know it’s only the 2nd week in 2022, but it’s certainly a good start!
Cold Air On My Chest
On Wednesday I went out for a run to catch the sunrise. I rushed out of my house, didn’t warm my body up, and left my inhaler at home. Normally, it wouldn’t really be an issue. Ever since I got put on my brown steroid inhaler, I hardly ever need to take my blue inhaler. But I always do carry out with me, especially out running as you never know. But this Wednesday I really needed it. 1 km into the run, the cold air got onto my chest and I felt suffocated. It was horrible! I could hardly breathe! Every breath I took hurt. I stopped, let my heart rate come down, and slowly I could breathe properly again. Once I knew I was ok, I walked for a bit before running again. I was ok from then onwards, once my chest had warmed up. But since Wednesday, my chest has felt sore and not fully right.
Last night, before the whole nightmare of running out of gas in -1 temperatures, we had the most magical evening. Something I have been wanting to see for so long! A cloud inversion at sunset! It’s what every outdoor enthusiast dreams about seeing. It was just incredible! My photos don’t do it justice! But after standing out into the cold watching the sunset, and walking up and down to the viewpoint, even though I didn’t feel cold, the cold air got onto my chest again. All evening my chest was so sore. Every time I took a breath in, I felt pain inside my lungs.
This morning the pain has gone, but my lungs still don’t feel right. They still feel a bit sore and inflamed. I think I maybe need to start wearing a scarf or buff around my mouth, to stop me from inhaling the cold air straight onto my chest. It’s funny, I also get it when it’s really warm too. My chest is just sensitive to extreme temperatures I guess.
Here are photos from the cloud inversion at sunset:
Anyway, that’s it from me this week. Planning on grabbing some lunch then heading out for a little hike this afternoon.
