The Fairy Glen on the Isle Of Skye is one truly magical place. The only way to feel the full magic of the place is by visiting it yourself. It’s a place like no other! Some people believe the landscape was created by faires, others believe it was created by a landslide. After seeing the place myself, I believe it was created by fairies.
The route is an easy, 1-mile walk. We did it in the rain, and was still just as beautiful as it would have been in the dry! There is a good well-marked path around the Fairy Glen. However, in the rain, the path can get slippery, so shoes with good grip are recommended.
Location
The Fairy Glen is located just a 1 mile east of Uig, north of Isle of Skye. If you are travelling from the capital, Portree, it will take you around 25 minutes to get there, just under 16 miles in distance.
Parking
There is a National Trust, pay and display car park at Fairy Glen. The car park was empty on our visit. However, I can imagine in peak season and nice weather it does get full quite quickly. I recommend getting there early or later on in the day to get a parking spot.
