Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures was so much fun. Located just under an hour’s drive for the Disney Parks at Bay Lake.
We went out onto Lake Tohopekaliga on an airboat to search for some alligators. To our delight, we saw a baby alligator.
There are a few different airboat tours you can do. I cannot remember which one I did back in 2008 with my family. Whichever one you decide to choose, the best time to do them is before 10 am or later in the day as that’s when you are more likely to see wildlife. After 10 am, the temperature increases and it becomes too hot for the wildlife to be out in the sun.
The boat is a U.S. Coast Guard Inspected, 17 passenger airboat. Completely safe, you whiz across walls of tall grass at speeds of up to 45 mph. The engines are loud on an airboat, so we choose to wear ear protectors. It was a good choice, definitely something I recommend wearing.
After the airboat tour, we got the chance to hold a baby alligator.
