The beautiful Interlaken area of Switzerland is one of the most popular spots to visit in the country! After my recent visit, I can completely understand why! An area full of beautiful towns, draw-dropping mountains, and crystal blue lakes. There’s just something for everyone!

Here To Hike In The Mountains?
If you are after spending some time in the mountains, after some fun, scenic hikes? I recommend a drive up to Grindelwald. Here in this alpine mountain village, there is an endless amount of walks you can choose from!
One of my favourite hikes to do in Grindelwald is the hike from Grindelwald-First to Lake Bachalpsee! It’s such a lovely, easy, family-friendly walk, with breathtaking views from start to finish!

Want To Stand Behind A Waterfall?
Geissbach Falls is one waterfall in the whole of Switzerland that you can actually stand behind! Sounds pretty epic right?
Giessbach Falls is a series of waterfalls, located not too far from the village of Brienz. They flow into the floLake Brienz. There are two ways to see them: by a boat along Lake Brienz or by doing a short hike, from the Giessbach Falls car park.

Have A Day Out In Thun
Thun is a beautiful town, located on the shores of Lake Thun. A picturesque place to wander around, enjoy a bite to eat, or even do a bit of shopping.
Here are some of the top things to do in Thun:
- Have a potter around the cobble streets in the Old Town, including a walk down Obere Hauptgasse, the shopping street.
- Visit the Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz).
- Visit Thun Castle.
- Walk along the floodgate, Untere Schleuse (the wooden covered bridge).
- Have a potter around Lake Thun.
Take A Boat Trip
Here in Interlaken, there are two very beautiful, turquoise lakes, surrounded by breathtaking backdrops, of the Swiss Alps. Both Lake Thun and Lake Brienz will leave you with memories of a lifetime!
There are lots of different boat companies to choose from. I personally can’t recommend one, as this was something we didn’t do. But standing at the shores of both lakes, it’s definitely something on my list to do next time when I’m in the area!
This list isn’t an exhausted list! This is just what I experienced in Interlaken, and what I can recommend. I will be back, and when I do, I will keep adding to this blog! I know Interlaken has so much more to offer!
