Brandesburton is a lovely village, located in the Yorkshire Wolds, not too far from the town of Beverley. It is surrounded by beautiful country roads and public bridleways.
We did this 4-mile circular on Christmas Eve. The route is a beautiful, short, easy walk to do. The route is very flat but can be muddy in places along the public bridleway.
Please be aware: they do hunting along this route. On Christmas Eve, we saw quite a few horses with their riders out, galloping across the fields with their pack of hounds.
Location
The route starts and finishes in the village of Brandesburton, just 9-miles outside the town of Beverley, in East Yorkshire.
If you are driving using your Satnav, use the postcode: YO25 8RL. This postcode should lead you to the centre of Brandesburton, where the route starts and finishes.
Parking
You can park anywhere along the edge of the road in Brandesburton. Just make sure you are not blocking anyone’s driveway or the road.
I recommend parking along Main Street, near The Dacre Arms, as this is where the route starts and fishes.
The Route
Follow this map, as you walk the route, you shouldn’t get lost! Make sure your location is turned on and you should be able to see exactly where you are, on this map. Or if you prefer, download the GPX file and use it on your choice of route tracker.
1.
Starting in the village of Brandesburton, down Main Street, next to The Dacre Arms, take the road going off to your left-hand side, named Mill Lane. Head up Mill Land, following it as it bears off to your right-hand side, onto Frodingham Road. Walk for a short distance along Frodingham Road, until you see a public bridleway and a signpost reading Plantation Cottages, going off to your left-hand side.

Take the public bridleway and follow past the cottages, through the opening fields, passing through Westfield Farm. Eventually, you will reach a country lane, called Mill Lane.

Turning towards your left-hand side, onto Mill Lane, follow it for a short while, passing the fishing lakes on your right-hand side. Eventually, you will reach a lane going off to your right-hand side called, Hempholme Lane.

Head onto Hempholme Lane and follow it for just under a mile, passing more fishing lakes on your right-hand side. At the end of the lane, turn towards your left-hand side, onto Starcarr Lane.

Follow the footpath, along the left-hand side of Starcar Lane. Shortly, you will reach a Brandesburton stone sign and a road going off to your left-hand side called, Main Street. Head along Main Street, back into Brandesburton, and back towards where you started the route from.
